the compost pile

In an effort to maintain a rather unsightly (neighbor’s opinion, not mine) compost pile, I rummaged under the cottage to find something to contain the yard waste. After hauling out three HUGE shipping pallets I found this!

The white lattice fence was used previously and inventively by my dad, of Kahuna Valley Farms, as a city pigeon deterrent in the veg patch. Happy to have it repurposed once again.

As a side note, the shipping pallets stocked under the cottage are so common in Hawai’i- almost 90% of our goods are shipped here, most of it packaged on them. We have a few uses for them, but suggestions are welcome!
